‘1st. Series of Six’ - Update

I've published the first ten photographs on this website. My goal is to reach a total of twelve, from which I will curate an initial ‘Series of Six’. Interestingly, my photographic vision has evolved since I began this project. After completing the first series, I plan to create another twelve images, bringing the total to eighteen. These will then be distilled into a refined ‘Series of Nine’. Ideally, I hope to produce at least four series, which should highlight the significant growth I've achieved since starting this journey.

It is early days, but I’m noticing emerging patterns. Each photograph resonates with me in unique ways, revealing nuances I initially overlooked. The second roll of film is already shot and a third is ready to go to the Lab.  I am finding myself becoming increasingly discerning in my selections. The editing process will be pivotal, serving not only to curate the strongest images, but also to further develop my artistic vision.

The challenge lies in refinement. In crafting the first ‘Series of Six’, I aim to distill the essence of my work, ensuring that every selection aligns with the underlying themes I’m exploring. I’ve been contemplating the narrative arc—what story do I want each series to convey? How can I evoke a visual and emotional connection for viewers through these images?

My aim is to present these series as more than just individual pieces; they will form part of a broader exploration of themes that resonate deeply with me. Whether addressing the passage of time, the beauty of impermanence, or the quiet strength found in my healing journey. I hope the final selections engage viewers, sparking curiosity and prompting reflection.

Throughout this creative journey, I’m reminded of the importance of patience and perseverance. Each series will be a labour of love, reflective of countless moments spent behind the lens. I am eager to see how my vision unfolds and how the final collections will narrate the story. One aspect I am particularly focused on is creating variety, especially in terms of distance.
